Why Pink?

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and AYSO has been a supporter of this program for years.

Approximately 250,000 women will be diagnosed this year with that disease and it hits all communities.

Our region is not immune to this issue and we want to respect those women who have powered through it and their families who have supported them as well as the families of those who have lost members to this ugly disease.

Let's show our colors and our support for any and all survivors as well as the families of those who have made the journey. We are a community of approximately 900 players and I'm sure that there are some families on this journey in our population. If anyone knows of someone who may need a meal, someone to make sure kids get to practice or a game, someone to sit with them and talk, etc... just let me know and we will get some support...

Additionally, you will see referees on the pitch this month in Pink and we will be offering Pink socks to all our referees (if they ask for them) to wear throughout the balance of October.

In our house... when we were on this journey, our focus was onward and upward.

So, I will close with... Onward and Upward
